We had some interesting experiments in cooking and dining this last week, and we combined some things that you would not expect to go together.
When I grew up, we ate sauerkraut and sausage. So, earlier this week, we decided to cook that for dinner. But we also had some zucchini squash that needed to be used before it went bad. So my wife suggested that we add the zucchini to the sauerkraut and sausage. I was hesitant at first, but I went ahead and did it. And it turned out to be pretty good. But we had some leftovers.
The next night we picked up some Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala from a local restaurant, and we, again had leftovers.
So guess what we had the next night: leftover Biryani and leftover sauerkraut, sausage & zucchini.
You'd think they would clash, but the Biryani and sauerkraut flavors actually complimented each other.
Have you had any unexpectedly good combinations like that?
