Changing Site's Favicon, with Apple Webapp support. Which HTML files?
Pre-ambleI hope I can find some help on here, as so far I haven't found many support pages for Hubzilla customisation.
I recently started a server which I hope to use for my college community, who are keen to move away from facebook, and shouldn't be too active, as we mainly need an announcements etc. space. (We've been using facebook groups unsuccessfully)
Without moving up to VPS, Hubzilla is really the only option for a federated social platform. It is probably also the best option, once the initial learning curve is overcome. I hope to decrease the learning curve for users by overcoming a bigger learning curve for me as an admin by optimising the interface and pre-making some webpages etc.
One part of this will be making the site mobile-friendly. I don't think Redbase is particularly appealing, so I might move to Neuhub (although it seems not be completely finished yet, as I can't access PDL editor through it). In addition to that, I want to make it presentable on mobile home screens.
QuestionHow do I use the custom PNGs in my root directory as favicons, as well as apple touch icons. I've been told to add the code below to the HTML head of my webpage, but the only HTML file I can find in the hubzilla installation is
index.html_
, and adding it to that has made no difference. There's plenty of HTML in the page source on my Hubzilla site, but I can't find any of it in the directory. Is this generated by Php? I'm completely unfamiliar with how Php works.
This is some of the code I plan on using in the HTML head:
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="180x180" href="/apple-touch-icon.png">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="32x32" href="/favicon-32x32.png">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="16x16" href="/favicon-16x16.png">
<link rel="manifest" href="/site.webmanifest">
Any help would be really appreciated,
Thanks,
Tom
